Bintan, Indonesia

Bintan is a resort island in Indonesia. It's only a 50min ferry ride from Singapore. The last 30min of the Ferry ride was really rough. It was fun at first, almost like an amusement ride, but when the kids and some adults started to get sea sick, it wasn't fun anymore. I just turned up the music in my ipod and closed my eyes and tried to ignore everything. Lucky for Robin and I, we were fine.

If you didn't want to eat in the hotel, there were only 2 other restaurants in our resort compound. We chose the seafood restaurant, Kelong.

Started out with Chili Crab. Also had a deep fried red snapper with a spicy sauce, but I forgot to take the picture

Sauteed water spinach with hot peppers. Ordered some fried bananas for dessert, but they weren't very good. Looked like a banana, but didn't taste like it.

Went back to the hotel to try another dessert. One of the cakes was good, the other was awful. I think it's a texture issue with desserts in general in Asia.

The kopi tarik "coffee" was very good. This is the pulled Malasian or Singaporian coffee that is poured back and forth to get the special foam
