Wuzhen: 1200 year old town

Wuzhen: A 1200-year town, with its black tiled, tung oil painted timber framework houses, that contrast sharply with its white walls and gray flagging, brings to mind a Chinese ink and wash painting.

This town is about 1hr from Hangzhou on the way to Shanghai.

A working winery.

Stopped for lunch at a garden before traveling back to Hangzhou. I had never seen anything like this dish. Imagine a bunch of small birds on a plate. I didn't know what kind of bird this was or how old. It wasn't much bigger than a silver dollar and not much meat on them.

The eel was much better

Also had many other dishes: Fish, Tofu, Chicken, peanuts, bamboo shoots, shrimp, eggplant

Crab and some type of bean

Hi, Darryl,

Your blog brings me back the memory of meeting with you in Hangzhou.

The small bird you experienced in the garden restaurant calls Sparrow! it is not easy to find them in normall restaurant. But I can still remember when I was a teenage, got a lot of fun to capture Sparrow in the snow winter with a Mantle.
