Cheung Chau

Took Wednesday off as a vacation day and Robin and I went exploring one of the outlying Hong Kong Islands, Cheung Chau. It's only a 30 min fast ferry ride, or 1 hr slow ferry from the Central Pier on Hong Kong Island.
A few major themes arise when discussing Cheung Chau. There are no cars. You either walk or rent a bicycle. There are good beaches, easy walks, and Seafood. Very good, inexpensive seafood. The seafood is almost worth the trip alone.
After departing the ferry, you walk right into the middle of the town. Walk 20-30 yards to the right and you see your first set of fresh seafood tanks
And a big sign showing what seafood they have
Good thing the menu had pictures on it. Ordered 3 dishes.
A big bowl of clams that were served in soup. I didn't know if was soup when we ordered it, but it was good
Shrimp baked with salt and pepper. It was on the spicy side
And fresh scallops steamed with garlic
Total bill was less about $20US
