Sanya, China

Hawaii?, No, but the weather is the same and the resorts are very similar.
This is Sanya, China.
Sanya is the southern most city in Hainan province. Hainan is an island about a 1hr 15min flight south of Hong Kong. It is considered the Hawaii of China. Sanya and Hawaii are at the same latitude. Many tourists from China and Russia. It appeared that most of the foreign tourist were Russian. Very few western visiters.

Robin joined me for this trip. It only took 15,000 miles for a free roundtrip ticket. After my 2 days of meetings, we had all day saturday free, since the only direct flight back to Hong Kong was 9pm.

Better sitting here all afternoon than in an airport

And we can't forget the food. Double click on the picture to make it bigger.
Almost everything was seafood. Lobster, Crab, Shrimp, Clams, Baby Abalone, Fish, Sea Snails, black/yellow corn, a vegetable that I've never seem before, a kabob with some type of seafood I could recognize, soup, chicken.

Darryl, do you have Little Fat Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot in Hong Kong. This famous chain (over 700 locations) just opened up in San Mateo and it's really good. It's so popular that there are some fakes. Found one that sounds like it might be the right thing, but it might also be a fake. Go check it out: Little Sheep Hotpot
