Taichung, Taiwan

Took a trip to Taiwan a few weeks ago. It took just over an hour to fly from Hong Kong to Taipei.
The following day I took a train from Taipei to Taichung.

Had lunch at a local restaurant. This was giant prawns over soft tofu

I think this was fried frog pieces.
Steamed fish the was flown in from a lake near Suzhou,China.

Had a meeting with a potential partner in the afternoon. They served us a late snack that was famous in the region. It was a giant steamed rice dumpling filled with meat. It was very gooey and a little sweet.

Had a group dinner in Taichung before taking the train back to Taipei. Started out with a large sashimi platter served from a huge wooden boat.

Soup which I believe was a thick mushroom broth. It was served individually and heated with a sterno type flame.
Grilled prawns

2 fish heads
